Nagi Vietnamese Cuisine & Cafe
About This Spot
Stepping into Nagi Vietnamese Cuisine & Cafe is like entering a thoughtful, quietly vibrant space where culture and comfort intertwine. Located in the heart of Sakon Nakhon, this restaurant and art café offers more than a meal—it invites guests to slow down and savor a unique blend of tradition and creativity framed by the striking architecture inspired by Wat Phra That Choeng Chum Worawihan. The pace here feels unhurried yet alive, the kind of place where conversations linger over carefully prepared dishes and where the ambiance gently encourages connection.
The setting itself is a harmonious fusion of Lanna and Lan Xang influences, crafting an environment that feels both familiar and intriguingly new. Interiors reflect an understated elegance—warm wooden tones, artful details, and staff dressed with attentive care—that makes every visitor feel considered and welcome. Outside, a spacious area offers a calm spot to gather your thoughts or enjoy the subtle rhythms of life in this northern Thai town.
Dining at Nagi is a journey through flavors and textures rooted in both Vietnamese and northeastern Thai (Isan) traditions. The menu, thoughtfully composed, feels like an invitation from the kitchen to explore local stories through food: rich, comforting soups that echo family recipes, refreshing salads balancing tangy and savory notes, and unexpectedly tender proteins that speak of care in sourcing and preparation. Each dish arrives as part of a larger narrative, pairing taste with a sense of place, inviting sharing and discovery around the table.
What truly sets Nagi apart is this delicate balance of authenticity and artistry. It’s a spot where the cultural layers of the region come alive not just through food but through the atmosphere—an intersection of heritage and hospitality. Whether you're seeking a relaxed meal with friends, a quiet moment with a good coffee, or a gentle introduction to Sakon Nakhon’s local spirit, Nagi Vietnamese Cuisine & Cafe offers an experience grounded in warmth and thoughtful craftsmanship.

A really great cafe-restaurant in good premises, with a great interior. The staff are dressed in great suits, which together with the interior makes the visit a nice experience. A large menu is available, and my order tasted excellent. The area around and at the bottom of the building has been developed into a great outdoor area, where you can take a nice walk. There is a large parking lot available at the entrance to the place.

Nagi is one of the most unique restaurants I’ve ever visited—not just in Sakon Nakhon, but anywhere. While it’s a Vietnamese restaurant, it’s housed in a beautifully designed Lanna–Lan Xang style building inspired by Wat Phra That Choeng Chum Worawihan, a sacred temple in Sakon Nakhon. I was genuinely shocked (in a good way) when I arrived—the cultural blend is stunning. The atmosphere inside is just as impressive. It’s decorated in Lanna–Lan Xang style and, as I learned from talking to the owner, the decor changes with Thai festivals. The space is airy, peaceful, and the background music adds a warm, traditional Lanna touch. As for the food, everything is MSG-free, low sodium, and incredibly tasty. It’s clean, creative, and full of flavor. Must-try dishes include: - Nem Nuong (แหนมเนือง) – their own original recipe, packed with flavor and creativity. - Crispy Shrimp Pancake (กุ้งกระเบื้อง) – another standout, using Mexican tortilla flour for a unique twist. - Song Dao (ส่องดาว) – a drink made from wolffia (yes, the superfood!), surprisingly delicious and refreshing. Many dishes are designed to reflect Sakon Nakhon’s identity, and the result is far beyond expectations. Desserts and drinks are also sugar-free, which is a bonus for health-conscious diners. The staff are excellent—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about every menu item. If you’re in Sakon Nakhon, this place is a must-visit to experience a truly impressive blend of cultures, flavors, and creativity.

The best naem nueng I’ve had! Fresh ingredients, tasty sauce, tender pork, and great value. Fast and friendly service. A must-try!

Refreshing atmosphere likened to dining in a temple-ish environment. Wax temple replica showpiece captures the essence of Sakon Nakhon.

Nagi at Sakon Nakhon (behind Rajabhat University) Stopped by for a meal and tried 5 dishes: • Nam Nueng Pork (290 THB) Mild flavor, kid-friendly. Fresh and clean veggies. • Tum Phu Phan (220 THB) Sweet and tangy, well-balanced. (Ordered without fermented fish or shrimp paste) • Shrimp Wonton Crisps (290 THB) ⭐Recommended Crispy outside, soft inside, bouncy shrimp texture. The plum sauce is the real highlight! • Nagi Noodle Roll (180 THB) Similar to fresh rice noodle rolls, savory and slightly sweet. • “Moo Nang Loet” Pork with Cha-plu Leaves (240 THB) ⭐Recommended Tender, aromatic pork wrapped in cha-plu leaves. Flavorful spices, served with a slightly spicy citrus dipping sauce and vermicelli. Atmosphere Beautifully decorated with plenty of photo spots. Limited seating, but staff are attentive and give detailed menu recommendations. Note: No alcoholic drinks available.

The restaurant has a good atmosphere, beautiful decorations and nice services. I and my fam came here for a lunch and we enjoyed food and services. One thing I do like is that they named drink menus with Sakonnakorn's districts such a good idea.
